I live in Canada and was wondering where to get pigments from. I know of kama, kremer and colours of nature, but I was wondering what other ones are out there!
I get most of mine from https://www.guerrapaint.com I go back and forth with handprint to verify my choices are light-fast, I dont have time right now but in the next few days I will post a list of the colors I tried so far, and I will include swatches.

At least twice a year, paint something better than you ever painted before.
This place has the lowest price on pigments I have found. The source was provided by someone here on WC a while back when I was just getting started with making my own paint. If you have a business license and will buy a minimum of $100 you can get a wholesale discount on pigments and some other items they sell that will make their already low prices even better. They only have the basic colors but the money you save on those can go towards some of the high dollar stuff from Kremer or Kama.

I want to try making some watercolor and some gouache paints with Aquazol which is what is used for the QOR watercolors, as I like how they handle. Quite a bit more expensive than Gum Arabic at $41 for 16 ounces but when compared to the price of the tiny tubes of QOR paints, it doesnt seem so bad. I dont know which of the 4 different viscosity options is going to be the best for watercolors.

I have a few pigments from Blue Ridge- ultramarine, mars yellow, mars red, and titanium white. I cant guarantee anything but I see nothing about the pigments I have to make me think they have fillers. The ultramarine, for example, looks perfect to me.
Kama Pigments, by the way, sells cadmium red medium for $72.50 for 1 lb, $47 for cad red light, $50 for cad yellow light, etc.
I dont know the differences between different suppliers since Ive never gotten the same pigment from more than 1 (except titanium white which I also have from Daniel Smith), but I have definitely noticed a huge range in pricing for the same pigments.
The company is the world’s best white pigment supplier supplier. We are your one-stop shop for all needs. Our staff are highly-specialized and will help you find the product you need.

A little off topic, sorry, but :
Im in Australia so different circumstances maybe from all the previous posts, but last year I found useable dry pigments at a local pottery supply company and a hardware store
Id already done a huge amount of research ( for me anyway ) on pigments and chemical names etc, and found pretty much the stuff I wanted from the pottery joint, albeit a very limited range of colours
they had 2 different cobalt blues ( I got the wrong one Pb73 not Pb28 cobalt silicate instead of cobalt, what aluminate or something ? but it made nice paint anyway ), plus zirconium vanadium silicate Pb71, Zirconium praesodymium silicate PY159 ( both glass based pigments I think ? ) and titanium
plus a few others that were either too toxic for me, or way too pricey compared to what I bought
on top of that ( bear in mind I was just making this paint for fun and to see if I could do it ), concrete colouring additives from the local hardware store ( where I am the place I got it is called Bunnings, and the brand is Diggers ) come in a variety of colours I found the Diggers Fire Red oxide colouring is just Pr101, and the Diggers black oxide colouring is just Mars black PBk11
( Diggers is a brand name, I am not associated with them in any way )
I did some rendering on a brick wall a few years ago, and used the same oxode colouring from the same company in an insanely vivid blue, Im now kicking myself cause Im pretty sure it was a cobalt and they dont make it anymore
I found the stuff from the potery supply joint made decent paint, maybe slightly grainy cause I either didnt grind it enough, or the particles were bigger, and the stuff youre supposed to colour concrete with ( yes I checked the label and the msds, its pure pigment as far as I could tell ) was much finer grain, but the Pr101 was a little metallic looking in solid colour
Im not trying to advise anyone to use the wrong materials, but I reckon I made some decent paint and have made a few paintings with no ill effects from these so far
all the pigments I tried ground well in poppy, linseed and safflower
I tried contacting a company not far from me which is one of the biggest manufacturers of titanium white pigment in the southern hemisphere to see if I could get a sample ( heh ) but no reply still, poop
