Private Label Supplement Custom Formulas - What you need ...

At Private Label Supplement, we offer every possible option to meet and exceed our Clients’ needs. It’s just what we do. Our commitment to consistently deliver top quality private label products and making our Clients vision a reality. Clients always come to me and ask me, “Stefani, I want to make a unique product that’s never been done before. Is this something you can help me with?” This is one of my favorite questions to answer because as a Private Label industry veteran, I know most manufacturers don’t offer custom formulas. I just love seeing my Clients eyes light up when I say; “We can definitely help you with a Custom Formula. This process is going to be all about you.”

Hengkang supply professional and honest service.

Private Label Custom Formulas are such an important part of unique and niche product lines. We have collaborated with Clients on countless capsule, powder, liquid, soft chews, soft gel, and tablet Custom Formulas. The best part about this process is that we allow you to use a variety of ingredients for your vision that 1) don’t skimp on quality and 2) will fulfill all your business needs.

Here are three helpful tips my Sales Team and I like to give our Clients before they get started with their Custom Formulas at Private Label Supplement.

1. You Can Make any Custom Formula You Can Think Of

There is no end to the formulas you can create with Private Label Supplement. You can be as creative as you want to be. I said it once, and I’ll gladly say it again, this process is all about you. How could you say no to making your dream product come true?

Private Label Custom Formulas allow you to offer a product your competitors can’t in powder, capsule, liquid, soft chew, soft gel or tablet form. All you have to do is present your creative concept after working with a chemist, pharmacist, or even a veterinarian and Private Label Supplement will help make it yours. We always put quality and health first and make sure that we meet your expectations in every way and exceed the Good Manufacturing Program (GMP) guidelines. I’ll let you on this tidbit of information when it comes to marketing Skincare Products. I’ve seen many Skincare Products out there make claims and promises that are a big no-no in the eyes of the FDA so it’s important that you don’t let your promises go too far. The FDA warns Skincare and Cosmetics companies when they make claims and promises that potentially classify their products as drugs instead of cosmetics. Let me teach you a little something about marketing and Skincare Products. If Skincare and Cosmetics companies are making definitive claims such as:

  • Can treat diseases such as Acne, Eczema or Rosacea
  • Can increase Collagen
  • Can revive aging cells

This is the type language you need to look out for. These claims are how you get the FDA knocking on your door and no one wants that.

Generally safe claims for Cosmetics and Skincare Products are:

  • Cleanses skin
  • Enhances beauty
  • Promotes attractiveness
  • Alters appearance

To be even safer, I tell my Clients this rule of thumb: “If your Skincare Product is intended to cleanse or beautify these are generally regulated as Cosmetics. If the product is intended to treat or prevent disease or affect the structure or function of the body, these are generally regulated as drugs. Cleanse and beautify = Cosmetics. Treat or prevent disease = drugs.” Some products are both cosmetics and drugs so it’s important to know what avenue you want to go with your Skincare and Cosmetics products and get your marketing and labels as accurately as possible to avoid any future trouble. I have to let my Clients know this because I want them to do things right the right way and be successful. If I didn’t it would be a complete disservice. I’ll touch on this subject in more detail in point number three because I can’t stress enough how important it is.

2. You Can Target a Specific Demographic

Another amazing thing we do for our Clients at Private Label Supplement is that we tailor your products and strategies for a certain market of Customers you wouldn’t have thought you’d be able to win over otherwise. We love opening new possibilities for our Clients. I love using Skincare Products as an example because when most people think of Skincare, it might seem like a realm predominantly for women, but let me tell you, men love taking care of their skin – maybe even as much as women. In my experience, men maintain a solid demand for Skincare products, and they are not so set in traditional choices like they used to be. Private Label Men’s Shaving Cream focuses on simplicity and the benefits of its key ingredient, Shea Butter, which is often thought of as “girly.” And it all comes back to marketing at this point. If you know how to talk and relate to your Customer base and you have a product that backs it up, the possibilities for success are endless.

3. It Matters if Your Formula Is a Cosmetic, Drug, or Both

I promised I’d talk more about Skincare Product claims so let’s get right down to it. Let me simplify this complicated legal jargon for you. In a nutshell, Skincare products are coming under the microscope with regards to Customers’ concerns about safety, health and quality control, as it should be. All of our Private Label Supplement Custom Formulas follow GMP Guidelines set by the FDA, while our Skincare products’ claims follow classification as a Cosmetic. We conduct third-party audits with the manufacturers and give you Quality Agreements. It’s quite a daunting process, but that’s why we deal with all the complicated parts, so you don’t have to. It all comes down to transparency. Transparency, transparency, transparency. If you don’t have transparency in this line of business, you could be facing a slew of problems before you even start. We always have our Clients’ backs and that’s why we keep you in the loop every step of the way in the Manufacturing process.

If you’re not going to do it all the way right in the first place, why do it at all right? All Skincare products must start out as Cosmetics because they intend to cleanse or beautify the skin and are usually applied topically. But if any are meant to treat or prevent disease or change the skin’s structure, then they are Drugs, which are usually consumed. It can take about 10 years for most Drugs to go from initial formulation to FDA approval and into the market — a tedious process for a safe, healthy product whose nutritional benefits you want to focus on before the market loses steam.

Some Skincare products are, surprisingly, both Cosmetics and Drugs and this is where things can get a little tricky. Dietary supplements with health benefits are actually non-conventional Foods with strict prohibitions against adultering or misbranding them. But whether you market a product in the Dietary Supplement or Skincare industry, it’s important to know what claims you can make on your Private Label Custom Formula. Our Third Party Marketing Claim Testing tells you exactly what you can and can’t say on your product labels. Again, we have your back.

How Acetyl-L-Carnitine Burns Fat and Powers the Brain

  • Acetyl-L-carnitine (ALCAR) improves mood, learning, and memory by aiding in the process that delivers energy to your cells.
  • ALCAR also helps your muscle mitochondria burn fat, which can increase your endurance, give you an edge in the gym and help you recover faster.
  • Studies show ALCAR increases mental energy and brain function, lowers inflammation, boosts circulation and improves focus.
  • In the gym, ALCAR increases strength, boosts testosterone, burns fat, speeds recovery, builds muscle, reduces fatigue and improves insulin sensitivity.

Acetyl-L-carnitine (ALCAR) is a powerful addition to your supplement toolbox. This valuable little molecule has been a staple in the bodybuilding and brain-hacking communities for years now, thanks to its ability to help you lose weight and power up your brain. Read on to learn more about the benefits of acetyl-L-carnitine, plus side effects, safety and dosage.

What is acetyl-L-carnitine?

ALCAR is an amino acid naturally produced in your body that is necessary to generate energy.[1] It’s also found in animal protein — namely, red meats. Many people supplement with ALCAR, because of its potential benefits.

What are the benefits of acetyl-L-carnitine?

You can use ALCAR to enhance your mitochondrial function, cognition, workouts and more. ALCAR helps your mitochondria (the powerhouses of your cells) burn fat and create more energy — especially for your muscles and brain.

Acetyl-L-carnitine has two main benefits:

  • Supports brain health: ALCAR is an anti-aging nootropic, or smart drug, meaning it helps your brain perform better. The acetyl group on it lets it pass your blood-brain barrier and reach your brain and nerves, where it can help to improve your mood, learning and memory.[2][3]
  • Burns fat and builds muscle: ALCAR can give you an edge in the gym, too. It shuttles fuel (in the form of fatty acids) to your muscle mitochondria, which ramps up your energy production and can increase endurance. ALCAR also pushes your metabolism toward fat burning while you work out.

Acetyl-L-carnitine and weight loss: How it helps burn fat

WWhen you take ALCAR, it turns into carnitine in your body. If your insulin levels are low — for example, from eating a keto diet, intermittent fasting, working out intensely or being in a calorie deficit — carnitine becomes very important for burning fat.

When your body burns fat for fuel, it takes stored body fat (or fat you eat) breaks it down into fatty acids and sends the fatty acids to your mitochondria. Your mitochondria turn those fatty acids into ATP (energy) that powers your cells.

But fatty acids can’t get into your mitochondria alone. They use something called a carnitine shuttle.[4] Basically, carnitine latches onto fatty acids and carries them into your mitochondria. It gives your mitochondria the raw materials to produce lots of energy and function at their best.

In other words, you need carnitine to metabolize fat. If you’re low on carnitine, fat can’t get into your mitochondria, and you struggle to use it for fuel.[5] But with abundant carnitine, your fat metabolism works like a well-oiled machine. That’s where ALCAR supplements come in, and why they’re so popular with bodybuilders.

The bottom line: To burn fat, your body breaks it down into fatty acids, and ALCAR helps get those fatty acids into your mitochondria where it can be used as fuel.

Acetyl-L-carnitine for mood, memory and cognitive decline

ALCAR in supplement form can pass your blood-brain barrier, giving it access to the dense collection of mitochondria in your brain, as well as to the mitochondria in the rest of your body. That explains why ALCAR is becoming so popular as a nootropic supplement (something that makes your brain work better).

Here’s what the research has to say about using ALCAR to make your brain work better:

  • More mental and physical energy: Older men and women who took ALCAR daily saw a significant boost to their physical and mental energy levels, as well as better overall cognitive ability.[6]
  • Improves cognitive function: People with low carnitine levels see a major decrease in brain function. Taking ALCAR improves that brain function. A lot. In a 2010 study, eight out of 14 participants reversed a diagnosis of dementia and returned to their full cognitive abilities after taking ALCAR daily.[7]
  • Lowers inflammation: ALCAR decreases inflammation in healthy adults. Part of it is because ALCAR increases glutathione, your body’s master antioxidant.[8] Side note: Glutathione is awesome for hacking hangovers. And, as it turns out, ALCAR decreases damage to brain cells after drinking, too.[9]
  • Boosts circulation: In healthy adults, ALCAR increased circulation and nutrient-rich blood flow after a high-fat meal.[10] Good blood flow is an essential part of muscle and brain function.
  • Improves focus: Acetyl-L-carnitine improves attention, both in kids with ADHD and adults who struggle with mental fatigue.[11][12]

The bottom line: In studies, ALCAR has been shown to improve mental and physical energy, improve brain power, lower inflammation, boost circulation and increase mental focus.

Who should use acetyl-L-carnitine as a nootropic?

It’s worth mentioning that, although a few of these studies are in healthy young adults, a lot of ALCAR research is in older people. It’s clear that ALCAR is great for anti-aging, but what if you’re young and thriving, and want an extra edge?

As is the case with many nootropics, ALCAR is popular in the brain-hacking world thanks to lots of individual reports about how much it helps cognition. This is one of those supplements that’s worth trying on your own to see if you notice any benefit.

Acetyl-L-carnitine for exercise and recovery

ALCAR has been a staple of the bodybuilding community for years. It’s got some decent research to back it up:

  • Increases strength: In a study of 24 resistance-trained young men who took carnitine 90 minutes before intense exercise, participants enjoyed a significant increase in power output, as well as lower lactate levels (lactate contributes to the burning feeling in your muscles).[13]
  • Burns more fat: Young men who took carnitine burned more fat during moderate exercise, and their muscles produced more energy during intense exercise.[14]
  • Boosts testosterone: Men who took ALCAR after lifting had more dense hormone receptors in their muscles, which may have improved their testosterone uptake.[15] In other words, ALCAR doesn’t increase your testosterone; it makes you better at using the testosterone you have.
  • Speeds recovery: ALCAR can speed up recovery and decrease muscle inflammation after exercise, in both men and women.[16]
  • Better insulin sensitivity: ALCAR improves insulin sensitivity in people who don’t process glucose well.[17]
  • Builds muscle: ALCAR is a powerful anti-aging supplement if you’re older and want to build muscle. In older people, it decreases muscle fatigue and increases fat loss.[18]
  • Reduces muscle fatigue: One study found that acetyl-L-carnitine decreases muscle fatigue in young people, too.[19]

The bottom line: ALCAR can help you work harder in the gym and recover faster. And if you’re older, ALCAR is especially useful for maintaining your energy levels and shedding body fat.

Dosage: How much acetyl-L-carnitine should you take?

Acetyl-L-carnitine is a valuable addition to your daily supplement routine, especially if you’re an athlete or you’re looking for anti-aging benefits. Here’s what you need to know.

Most of the studies you just read about used between 1-3 grams of ALCAR, taken every day. One gram a day seems to be a good place to start.[20] From there, you can increase or decrease the dose as you see fit. As with most supplements, timing matters. Here are sample plans for taking ALCAR:

  • Acetyl-L-carnitine for nootropic benefits/anti-aging: 1-2 grams per day; half first thing in the morning and half in the afternoon
  • Acetyl-L-carnitine for fitness and fat-burning: 1-3 grams per day; half 90 minutes before exercise (to increase your muscle endurance) and half after exercise (to speed up recovery).

Be sure to consider any dosage instructions on the supplement packaging.

Acetyl-L-carnitine side effects and precautions

While ALCAR is generally considered safe for most people, you could experience some side effects, including:

  • Upset stomach
  • Nausea
  • Vomiting
  • Headache
  • Dry mouth
  • Restlessness

Of course, consult your physician before starting any new supplement, especially if you’re pregnant, breastfeeding or have a serious medical condition.
